RULES & REGULATIONS

These rules are for the protection and benefit of all members of Papio Swim Association and their guests. We appreciate the cooperation of all members in observing the following rules. The pool manager or assistant manager shall have the authority to make decisions when safety is at question. Appeals to suspend or revoke membership privileges shall be the decision of the Board of Directors. By paying dues, you have agreed to the following rules and regulations:

MEMBERS​

• All persons entering the pool must stop at the front desk and check in prior to entering. 
• Members must register all guests. All guests, whether swimming or not, must register and pay the guest fee. Guest fees are $7.00 per person, 2 and under are free. No refunds are given for guest fees. 
• Anyone attempting to bring in a non-member without paying or using another member’s membership is subject to suspension or termination.
• Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests. Failure to follow the rules and regulations by guests can result in loss of guest privileges for the member.
• Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a member that is 14 years or older.
• Illegal substances or weapons on the premises will result in the immediate suspension of privileges for the season. No refund of dues will be issued.

BEHAVIOR​

• Papio Pool will not tolerate fighting, wrestling, pushing, spitting, disrespectful behavior, or abusive language toward pool staff, board members, members of Papio Swim Association, guests, or other patrons under any circumstances. The pool manager/assistant manager will handle discipline problems. If a problem seems to persist, this will be reported to the board for review. Repeated offenses may result in suspension of privileges.

The general policy of discipline is:

•  Verbal Warning
•  If behavior continues, sit out of pool for 10-15 minutes, with warning directed to parents, if present.
• If behavior persists or is severe, dismissal for the remainder of the day with a verbal or written explanation to the parents, if not present.
• If there are repeated episodes, parents will be contacted and pool privileges will be suspended for 1 week. At the discretion of the pool staff and board, pool privileges can be suspended for a longer duration for repeat violations.

• The Papio Pool Board reserves the right to deny or revoke membership for any member who violates any of the rules or guidelines listed. These reasons which could include but is not limited to disrespecting staff or other members, rude or lewd behavior, stealing, sneaking in guests, failing to follow and adhere to lifeguards on duty, bullying, etc.…

POOL SAFETY

• No drinks are permitted in the water at any time. Only water is permitted at the side of the pool and must be in cups with sealed lids, including lids with collapsible straws. All other beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and food are permitted at chairs and tables only.
• ONLY soft water balls are permitted in designated areas of the pool. Throwing balls across crowded areas, at other patrons, or in a way that may cause disruption or interfere with swimmers is prohibited. Pool staff reserve the right to limit or stop ball throwing activities at any time.
• Only 1 person is allowed on the diving boards at a time. Jumping or diving off the side of the board is prohibited. Only 1 bounce is allowed off the diving board.
• The diving well shall be used exclusively for diving unless designated otherwise by the pool staff.
• Use of the baby pool is restricted to children 7 years or younger and must be under direct supervision of an adult. Lifeguard protection is not provided in the baby pool.
• The baby pool is NOT open during swimming lessons/swim team practices.
• Flotation devices/pool toys will be allowed at the discretion of pool staff.
• Admission may be refused to anyone with skin abrasions, infections, inflamed eyes or persons wearing bandages.
• No smoking, chewing tobacco, or vaping is allowed.

ATTIRE

• All diaper-age children must wear disposable briefs (Swimmers) while in the pool.
• All persons using the pool must wear proper bathing suit attire.
• No recording devices are allowed in the bathroom or changing area.
• Papio Pool is not responsible for loss or damage to personal property.

BREAKS

• The pool will be cleared the last 15 minutes of each hour. Swimmers 16 and older may remain in the water.
